If there's anyone on my flist who is absolutely boggled and has NO idea what it is I'm studying, here's a great little story that a newstation did about Stenography and students and how recession proof this profession is.

It's an ABC story--and yes, isn't it so cool?

(top reporters can earn $200,000, median earnings are $100,000, and a fair number of people earn $50-75,000 working three days a week)

Ouch

My ear is hurting again--guess I have to step up the allergy treatments. There's no way I am going to live through another several months with a constant ear ache. Damned allergies.
Well, I think I officially like Castle over The Mentalist. The Mentalist is quirky, but Castle doesn't rely on a hidden trauma to motivate the main character. Plus, Nathan Fillion is just hysterical in this role, and his timing couldn't be better. Plus, I KNOW that the UST that is there between Castle and the woman police detective is *supposed* to be there. It's mild, but the show is structured that way, so if it goes down that road, it won't bother me so much as it would with The Mentalist.
Wow, so far, I've had five automatic requests in a row for the first Harry Dresden book turned down at PaperBackBookSwap! Amazing!

When an automatic request goes out from your wish list (as soon as a book is available, and you're next in line) the program sends you a notice. The person who has the book is also sent a notice, and then they read your limits.  My limits are: no books that come from smokers homes. No books that live with cats. No books that smell musty.

And at least five offers have been refused! Because of cats, or smoke, or both, and one for mustiness. I'm amazed.
Milk is spitting out of my nose---slash the brothers? That's sick!

Brilliant stuff so far! (about 15 minutes into it)
