OMG! Someone out there actually has a copy of Storm Front by Jim Butcher that has NOT been exposed to cats; cigarette smoke; or moldy mildew!  And I finally GOT IT OFFERED TO ME! I think.

Oh. Still waiting on the other BookSwap member to get back to the computer and either accept or deny the request.  It'll probably be a Deny. It's like, everyone who has this paperback owns a freaking cat, or smokes, or hasn't kept good care of their book and exposed it to mold and mildew. WTH?

EDITED to ADD:

LOL, this is beyond funny. So far approximately 12 offers have been taken back by the book owners because they've just about ALL had cats! Or smokers!  Not to worry. There's *another* waiting for a response by the book owner. We'll see what happens. I'm not urgently wanting this book, btw, it's just on a wish list of mine. I have them all in hardcover; I'm just wanting them in paperback because it's easier to read them that way!
And not in China, folks--here in the USA. The levels of the rocket fuel ingredient is high even for an adult to ingest.

"The chemical has turned up in several cities' drinking water supplies. It can occur naturally, but most perchlorate contamination has been tied to defense and aerospace sites.

No tests have ever shown the chemical caused health problems, but scientists have said significant amounts of perchlorate can affect thyroid function. The thyroid helps set the body's metabolism. Thyroid problems can impact fetal and infant brain development."

It's an interesting read, especially when you get to the part where the regulartory commission in charge of this kind of thing thinks it the presence of this chemical is, if not okay, then tolerable for the population.

I have never watched this show. I have never seen an episode all the way through. I have never seen an episode PART of the way through. It has flown UNDER my television radar for its entire run. EXCEPT for the interminable, neverending, breathless, special advertisements each and every week. I'm especially relieved that the damn show is over so I don't have to be subjected to the "IT'S THE FINAL TOUCHING EPISODE!!!" advertisements all effing season long.

No more ER soap opera. No more "why is that actor leaving? OMG this actor is staying!" stuff. No more rotten soap opera special episodes advertised. No more mentions of it except in nostalgia articles, or Special Remake Episodes or perhaps a reboot 20 years from now (god help us).

Thank you, God, it's OVER.
