Shooz!

My older sister raved about FitFlops while we were over in South Carolina, saying that even her husband noticed her legs were getting better looking after she'd worn them for a couple of weeks. She also said that after the first day of wearing them, her legs ached like heck--even for her, someone who works out a lot (and she does look awesome).

So I found that a couple of stores in the mall carries them (Macy's and Ladies Footlocker), and I found a pair that fit. And I have to agree--you have to watch out the first few days you wear these things. After two or three days, I can feel the muscles in my butt and in the back of my thighs feeling a little sore. Before that, it was my calves. Luckily, my left foot doesn't hurt much anymore, although I'm still taking the 800 mg Ibuprofen pills to make sure the swelling stays down and help prevent more injury pain.

I may have to invest in another pair of these things next month, so I don't keep wearing the same pair day in and day out (which I tend to do with my shoes--I wear them out gently!)

Hmm...given recent foot/ankle problems, it is probably best I pass these by.

I know there's no way for me to do it. I'm in enough pain with arch supported shoes/sneakers.

Alas, flat feet. You torment me.

I'm finding these thong-style shoes are heavily cushioned--I think that's probably why so many of the testimonies on their website have such raves. I have majorly flat feet, too--in fact, just a couple of days ago, the RN I see told me that the foot x-rays they took of my left foot indicated...Flat Feet. (no break) Yup, had flat feet since I was a wee one, so that wasn't any surprise.

They are expensive, though- $50 at Macy's. Yeah, I only buy shoes these days that have some sort of support, or cushioning, so that I don't have another foot ouchie again. I've already had that top-of-the foot problem about 17 years ago from inadequate shoes and walking miles on pavement. I never want to repeat that pain again.

Or ask your doctor about them. But yeah, you have a very particular problem, so these might not be right for you. They are darned comfortable, though, I have to admit!

While I've seen no actual results, I find the Fit Flops SO much easier to walk in than regular sandals. They're more supportive, so that I can can walk a mile or two and not get blisters.

I think that's where the real "technology" comes in-they're supportive, and comfortable, so that you're *going* to walk more in them than in footwear you're not comfortable walking in for distances.
