And my last post for the day, I swear!

I know this issue has come up on LJ (not with anyone I know in particular, but I have heard of this through other people); people die unexpectedly, or go into comas or medical traumas. It's the worst that can happen. So, how do you inform all the people you've grown to know on the internet, with whom that's the only way you've ever known them? There's not always someone who you know in Real Life who can help your online friends get the information about your passing. So what do you do?

I actually think about this quite frequently. :P My real life family and friends have NO idea about the sites I visit or the stuff I do online, or the people I talk to so they'd have no way of contacting anyone, even if they thought about doing so, which they probably wouldn't.

I like the idea of the website set up to send out notifications, but wouldn't be willing to pay $20/$30 a year for what could end up being another 30, 40 or 50 years. :P
