A group of young dinosaurs is discovered in China (where else, these days?). All of them died at the same time, mired in a muddy water-side area. No older dinos, and no younger dinos, were found with them. Article includes a streamed interview with one of the archeologists who found all the little dinos! Very cool stuff.

Get Your Crash Helmets On!
Mar. 17th, 2009 12:49 amGalaxy cores are going to crash in a few million years!
Well, okay, so it's not *that* urgent you get your helmet on. By that time, our bodies will probably BE part of a helmet (if there is such a thing in that kind of far future). But hey, nothing like impending disaster, eh?

I've only read snippets while in the bookstore, so it's going to take a couple of days between getting lessons done and so forth before I take this one on. But I can tell you already--this book is a lot of fun. Girl power! Princesses were NEVER like this! (in Disney's dreams, maybe.Not.)
A sobering thought
Mar. 17th, 2009 01:11 amAnd my last post for the day, I swear!
I know this issue has come up on LJ (not with anyone I know in particular, but I have heard of this through other people); people die unexpectedly, or go into comas or medical traumas. It's the worst that can happen. So, how do you inform all the people you've grown to know on the internet, with whom that's the only way you've ever known them? There's not always someone who you know in Real Life who can help your online friends get the information about your passing. So what do you do?
This article goes into this issue, and lists three services that store information OR letters that go out to your online contacts.
Seriously something to think about.
