I've been told summarily that I'm a pill and tiresome, and I'm being put on ignore - by Starkindler on Sony! Okaaay.

How tragic. ;)

Actually, the last time I was on (a while ago) I remember thinking Starkindler was supporting one of my posts, then tearing the next apart as if I was a chronic idiot.

It's all very strange.

Yeah. I am wondering why I keep putting my dogs in that fight (and we're actually on some of the same sides) but it could be because although some of the opposite side and I have differences of opinion and drive me nutso -- we do agree on *other* subjects.

It is very strange. And I'm starting to wonder if I should just drop it like you have and mosey on along to other shows and interests.

Take it from me, you're not a pill and you're not tiresome. You're our GG. *g*

I say put Starkindler on ignore and just go to the threads where you can have fun. Fandom is supposed to be fun, not dealing with "certain" individuals. Just post what you think, ignore the crap and if you're having a good day, you'll get to yank the chains of the people who annoy you but you won't be responding to anything they say. That drives them nuts.

Actually, I don't put anyone on Sony on ignore - and the ones I did, have been banned. Tiv, to her, I'm one of those "certain individuals"!

The division actually started with the inclusion of Vala into the show. I've gone into it in a post to SBG on this thread. Suffice to say, I think it's going to take a few years for me to distance myself away enough from this show in order to truly "enjoy" from a casual fans' perspective - which is basically, not to really give that much of a shit of what happens to the characters except on a show-by-show basis.

Don't you know this was where you were supposed to beg and plead for that not to happen? I mean, why else announce intent to ignore? If I ignore someone, I just do it.

I think my unenthusiasm was dragging her down. I think she can deal with it from people like Supernova and those other shippytwits who hang out on that forum. But me? I've been on the same side for a long while, ripping Sam to shreds, and the "ship" and so forth -- but once Vala came on the scene, and unlike many of the others, I'm agaist ships to begin with, and furthermore, I think the character started out as a criminal...and should have stayed an unprincipaled criminal. and I despise any sign that Daniel would/could possibly grow to love that skank. Daniel/Sha'uri all the way for me. SG isn't a soap opera.

For my side, I don't see how the folks who adore Vala yet don't want ship can't see for themselves that TPTB of SG aren't going to be able to resist, and stick that shit in there - and that moreover, Shanks is going to go for it then. Don't think he wouldn't. He's not an exec. He's not RDA who played any shippy scenes flat. No, MS is walking that fine line, but I think he and his character is going to fall into that hole.

Oh well. I guess that makes me a nonfan of Stargate now.

I really hope Devlin gets his movie deal. And Russell. And Spader.

I've never found you tiresome. I've pretty much stopped posting anywhere online, simply because no matter where I go there's always a powder keg waiting to happen. I get depressed enough all by myself, without other people helping me along!

Just play here. We like you *g*

I've noticed you cut back on posting in general.

"I get depressed enough all by myself" -- wow, that should have come out of my mouth!

Here's one: I'm all excited about the possible Devlin Stargate movies (don't know if Emmerich is going to participate in the deal). But OMG, if you don't want the SG-1 actors involved in it, you're a piece of crap fan who doesn't really like the show!

Thank heavens there are other shows starting up and continuing that are interesting me now, after a long, long dry-spell of nothingness. For a long time when SG was on, there was nothing *good* on.

But now there's:
*The Dead Zone (ok, used to be good, but I love the relationships on it)
*Life on Mars - a heckuva lot of fun police procedural with a real twist (Deej, I think you'd really like this one - you're a Professional's fan, aren't you?)
*Medium - it's just good television and not too squicky
*Dr Who - how can one NOT love this new show, it's F*U*N spelled "D0CTOR"

and I'm sure there are one or two new good shows that I've forgotten about. It's like the reign of crappy reality shows is over, and Real Television with characters is making a come-back!

I'm eager to see the Devlin etc movies; after all it was the first one that got me involved in Stargate, anyway. I look at them as two seperate entities, the movies and the series. Especially now.

And yes, I've run across that same comment about what a lousy person you are if you don't want the SG1 cast in the movie. how hurt and bewildered and so on they're all going to be.... LOL. It's a business. I doubt any of them will give it a second thought. Nor will they ASSUME they should be in it just because they've been on the TV show.

I like the Dead Zone... when I can find it, which isn't often. Life on Mars? Who what when? Medium... When is it on, I'll have to check it out.

I've been relying on stuff from Netflix for the last three months or so.

Yay Julie.....that is high praise from someone like that ;)

A pill.....hee, I haven't used that expression in years.

Well, that's not her phrasing. I was paraphrasing. She said she couldn't figure out why someone who hated the show so much would still bother posting about it.

Um...well...gee...could it be there would be things about the show that I *miss*? That I'm frustrated that it was thrown away? That there's little to no exploration of other cultures and introspection and that it looks like almost any other SF show out there?

That just because a lot of people love Vala and adore her, doesn't mean we're "bad fans"? I think that's fucking rich, if you ask me. Sam fans, take a bow.

I definitely prefer the company I keep as a Vala fan versus the Sam fans. A 'bad fan' doesn't watch the show, isn't that a better definition.

We care enough to want the show to be good, in my mind that makes us the true 'good fans.'

I was just thinking about the early years today and all the neat places they visited and original races they met. The writers have gotten so lazy they don't bother with that sort of writing anymore.

Sigh..............
