Plague Squirrels in LA...should we rewrite "Plague Dogs"?

Plague-ridden ground squirrels, chipmunks, and rodents abound in campgrounds and in the LA area. Who knew? Really?  There've been recent cases of plague caught by campers in the area. Luckily this time they shut the campground down for 10 days while they cleared up the problem-which isn't so much the animals, as it is the fleas the poor little woodland creatures are carrying. And who wants that? Flea dip them all!

House MD had an episode about this (kinda) a few years back. A couple got a dog, which came from a breeder in AZ(?), and the dog had the bubonic plague from flea bites from fleas off prairie dogs and one of the women then got it from flea bites.
