Jury Duty: I ended up going to the Superior Court website, entering in my numbers, and finding out there that my service was completed! Just for proof, though, I printed out the pages. Now I have to mail in the summons that I didn't have a chance to turn in at the court itself.

Phew.

Dodged that bullet: Tall Boy woke me up around 4am, after having a series of bad dreams (zombie dreams). Then, about 20 minutes later I rushed him into the bathroom wherein he proceeded to barf ALL OVER the bathroom. Everywhere on the floor, toilet, next to the tub...OMG, it was ugly. I took him into the shower to clean off while the Guy did the dirty work of cleaning up. Then I got Tall Boy ready for bed, tucked him in and stayed with him for a while, until the sky lightened up outside. Then I fell asleep on the love-seat. At one point I think the Guy woke me up asking me to watch Tall Boy, who was complaining of a queezy stomach again. No barfing followed, thank heavens.

I finally was able to get off the living couch around noon time, and still felt like a microcloth used to wipe the kitchen floor. Meanwhile Tall Boy had woken up around 9ish am, and was playing on the Xbox.

Yup. Nice ending to the old year!

Congrats on escaping jury duty! It's funny--my grandmother loved getting called to jury duty. She always had these great, three or four day cases that were really interesting. But the only time I was called, it was in the dead of winter, after a huge snowstorm, and I had to go into Boston/Cambridge. By 8 am. It was ugly. Then the case I was called in for was a murder retrial that ended up lasting just over five weeks. The only thing that got me out of it was that I knew one of the witnesses--his kids were in all my programs at the library at the time.

I hope Tall Boy stays feeling well. Ugh on the vomit thing! That's totally the worst. Good health to all of you in 2010...starting tonight! :)

Oh my. Driving into Cambridge that early in the morning is hell on earth. I can't imagine how you dealt with the traffic!

Yeah, the prospect of getting corraled into a long trial scares the heck out of me. However, I think the CA system is different from the MA system. If the trail goes on longer than a week, you can see if the judge will let you beg off. I think there's a lot of pressure in the CA system to get trails done *fast* and overwith.
