Mr Monk and the Child and a request for a xover fic

USA is showing a marathon of Monk episodes-so, last night I decided to watch Mr Monk and the Child (or something close to it) and OMG! That has to be one of the funniest, sweetest Monk episodes *ever*. Monk/Tony Shaloub had the best chemistry with the most adorable toddler/actor I've ever seen. The little boy was so *cute* as to be unbelievable. The director and actors got so much out of him, he was hysterical! I actually had tears in my eyes, flowing down my face at the very end, when Monk decides he really can't take care of the little boy the way he'd like to. It's a shame the little boy hasn't been referenced since that show-no photographs of him up on the wall, or on a table, no mentions...it's too bad.

And this brings me to a question. Can't believe I'm asking this: does anyone know of a really good (and I mean *good*) Crossover fic with Monk and Psych? With all the characters in question in character? Without the premises stretched beyond recognition?

I'm really going to be sad when this show ends for good this week.

I loved that episode, too. There was another one this season in which he temporarily adopts a dog which is also very sweet. The most heartbreaking episode, though, was the one in which he befriends an older woman.

I don't know of any fic. I've never read fic in either fandom. I like Psych okay, but don't love it. I love Monk, but I'm not fannish about it.

It was an impulse: I'm not particularly fannish about either one, either, but after that episode...

I saw the dog one. It was sweet, too, but not like the one with the little boy. What episode was it had an older woman? I assume she dies at the end, or goes into a home?

Yeah, the little boy episode was a special one.

I cannot remember the title of the episode with the older woman, but she's someone who becomes like a second mother to him. She doesn't die or go into a home at the end. I don't want to give it away in case you ever get to see it.

Okay, I just looked it up on TV.com. I am pretty sure it is an episode from last season titled: Mr. Monk and the Lady Next Door. The description I read sounds like the episode I meant.
