One month ago exactly, I got sick, came down with a fever of 102.2ish, and got better. But I still have a damned cough I can't shake. I have been taking Triaminic cough suppresent  and expectorant and it STILL hasn't stopped. Probably going to call my RN soon. But then she'll most likely tell me she can't *do* anything for it. I think it is clearing up a little. Just so tired of coughing all the time.

That happened to me a few times when we lived in AK, and I think it was common there. I remember when we were flying to Hawaii, in the Anchorage airport, it was cough.cough.hack.cough.deepcough... And that's all you could hear anywhere in the airport. I remember it being such a huge change when we got off the plane in Hawaii...quiet, regular airport noises. *g*

From far away, I really hope you feel better soon. That must really suck. :-(

IRL, I don't get freaked out so much by *me* coughing, but I cannot stand to be around a coughing person. I think I lack compassion IRL, because I am so freaked out about the perceived germs they are spreading around. (This is not a swine flu thing, but a real life, all the time, every single day thing. I do not like sick people. I wish it were not so, but I seriously get so anxious if I hear someone coughing that I want to jump out of my skin and run away screaming. I don't, but it takes a *lot* of energy not to do so.)

ETA: Others were offering suggestiong... It helped me and my kids when we ran a cool mist humidifier at night in the house or even had one in whatever room we/they were in the most during the day.
