One month ago exactly, I got sick, came down with a fever of 102.2ish, and got better. But I still have a damned cough I can't shake. I have been taking Triaminic cough suppresent  and expectorant and it STILL hasn't stopped. Probably going to call my RN soon. But then she'll most likely tell me she can't *do* anything for it. I think it is clearing up a little. Just so tired of coughing all the time.

I've had that happen a number of times. My bronchi are sensitive buggers at the best of times, and infections set up major irritation, which turns into a vicious circle, even after the original bug is gone. Irritation makes me cough, causes more irritation. Sometimes a round of anti-inflammatories can help with that.

However, you could also have developed a secondary infection. Bacteria invade where virus first made things warm and cozy.

Either way, good enough reasons to see your doc.

I tend to catch upper respiratory infections when I either a) overwork myself or b) get overly stressed, which can happen with overwork, like working two jobs like I did one summer when I was in my 20s, or work in another country with crappy air quality and tons of stress. So yeah.

Would you suggest taking some aspirin as well as the suppressant? Hmm. I'll see if that helps.
