Started Thursday, April 16 --174 pounds (on the YMCA scale)
Today, Wednesday June 3 --168 pounds (also on the YMCA scale, give or take, because it's not digital)
What a difference a scale makes, eh? Going by this YMCA scale, I've lost ~6 pounds in 7 weeks. Not too bad. I'm just a pound behind schedule (no big deal), and it was not my imagination that my pants were fitting just a little bit better.
But I wonder which scale is correct? The one in the doctor's office, or the one in the YMCA women's locker room?
Also stopped by Wholefoods for some eating ideas and bought two packs of chicken sausages. One of them has cilantro in it (and is rated HOT) and the other is labeled Anduille, whatever that means. It's medium hot. Oh, goody.

Date: 2009-06-03 10:15 pm (UTC)I really really really do NOT want to come down with diabetes later in life. And I will, if I don't start cutting down on them. It's a shame fresh, unsugared food isn't as easy to find as the carbed up, fatted up, foods are. :-(
Don't bother looking at the SBD book yet--think of the "Sugarbusters" diet: it's essentially the same as the SBD. All you have to do is cut out excessively carbed/sugared foods. You'd be amazed at how fast it works, from what I hear.
(and also? I'd have loved to have lost 2 pounds per week, but to do that, I'd have had to make myself go hungry all day long. At least way, I get to eat all I want, within reason, and I don't have to write everything down, thank heavens)

Date: 2009-06-03 10:20 pm (UTC)I've just been eating bad this week - stress, poor time management, etc. But I have to do something now because I am at diabetes risk. Both my parents have it.
