Joseph Mallozzi has finished the first draft of the Stargate Atlantis movie script! His writing partner Paul Mullie completed his portion earlier this month and then handed it over to Mallozzi for his half.
Here’s what Mallozzi said in his weblog, “…I’m very happy with the story we have and with our ending in particular.

He just never shuts up. Or Solutions and Gateway never stop interviewing him. Is this new movie and the new series really that big of a news item? It's not like it's Star Trek, people. It didn't even have the story line of a B5 (although the dialogue is about on the same level sometimes).

Whatever.

Write when there's some REAL news about the Stargate. Like, if there's ever going to be a feature film by Dean Devlin and Emmerich. If David Arnold is going to rescore the theme. If the movie actually has some...plot. That's a long-shot, but it's possible. If they got better writers in.

I really, really hate Mallozzi at this point and wish like you that he would just shut his trap. Or, better yet, have someone else not in their inner circle write the story. Leigh Brackett wrote 'Empire Strikes Back' not George Lucas. Maybe this could work for Stargate.

That would be best, wouldn't it? Have someone *else* write the stories. Get rid of the current writing team, or make them the minority. Heck, it was done for Heroes (and that one really shits the creek for its women portrayals and fail of ANY POCs in it--it about rivals Stargate in that). They fired the writers that were crapping up the works.

Of course, with Stargate, different production company, laxer standards for quality. And yes, I think the majority of the/ir audience IS stupid. Just because it says "Stargate" in the title doesn't mean it's any GOOD. Marketers are so right. People ARE herd animals. And that is what Mallozzi counts on.
