The D/S slash has been going on forever. Back when I was reading a lot of SPN fanfic, it was called "Wincest". I never "got" it, either, it always just seemed too creepy, but I've seen similar stuff in other fandoms (Peter and Dad on Kung Fu: TLC was pretty popular, and just as *strange*.)
It was a great ep. Loved Prophet Chuck, and esp. Castiel's comment "You should have seen Luke." LOL.
Oh, lost of my flist friends are into SPN, for a LOT longer than me. Most of them talk about the repellent nature of Wincest. That's why I thought the "That's SICK" comment by Dean on the show was hysterical. :-)
That line was pretty good. Luke. heh Poor Chuck. As much a prisoner of his role as the Winchesters are. And things don't generally end well for prophets, either.
I thought the episode was awesome, so funny! :D I laughed like hell in the beginning, with the publisher and the comments about fangirls. ;)
I'm all about being tolerant, I just don't like incest in any form myself. RPF I have no problems with, as long as it is kept from the actors. :P Actually, I think all fanfic that involves erotica should be kept as far away from the actors as possible...but that seems to be just me. ;)
Also, I think I really like Castiel...the more I see of him, the more I like him. And it's fascinating that Dean calls him "Cas", cause really? No respect for an angel. LOL
Picture any two people not familiar with slash at all, have them find out people are writing slash about them, and you pretty much have Sam and Dean's reaction. *g*
The Supernatural TPTB seem to be laughing with fans, not at them (unlike certain other TPTB I could name), so even though I'm not into this particular flavor of slash, I think that's pretty cool of them. Even though I still want to run and hide when TPTB or actors mention any type of fanfic. I'm so old school it's not even funny.
