Here's an interesting blog. I didn't know Madonna was up for another adoption of a Malawanese child--this time, a little girl, so her little boy will have a sister.
Celebrity adoption makes me a bit twitchy too. Like the poster and the commenters said, there's plenty of kids who've been orphaned by AIDS or other circumstances who could be adopted right here at home.
I think one of the few times I've not been twitchy about it is Hugh Jackman. He's adopted mixed race kids in Australia and I know he's talked about it but it doesn't come off like he's trolling.
I think I remember hearing a tiny bit about Jackman's adopting of a child/ren, but not much.
I think Madonna's been such a publicity 'ho for so long, it's part of her make-up. Or, she was that way from the beginning. I hope these kids she's adopting from all over the place will be able to "go back" and reconnect with their bio families (if they have any living) by the time they're legal adults.
