Supernatural
I'm dipping my toes back into Supernatural after having given last season a miss. It doesn't *feel* as if I've missed a whole lot, though, considering how many of my flist are into this show.
This wasn't full of the frights as I thought it would be. No jumps, no shocks. Just some Heaven and Hell talk, a grim reaper (I was half expecting Ellen Muth as George to pop in as a Reaper). I thought the conversations were well done and delivered. I know I missed nuances, but that's what I get for coming in more than half-way through the fourth season.
The angel wasn't as angelic as I'd have expected (ie, no unearthly beauty there!). I did enjoy the psychic the brothers called in. It was plainly an arc episode, but fortunately, it didn't feel unfinished.
I liked the kid who played the dead boy. I swear I've seen him somewhere else but I can't figure out where. The talk Tessa the reaper gave him sort of negated what Sam told him (Cole? Shout out to the Sixth Sense? Sure....) Really, the kid didn't have any choice, and it was silly to let him think he had one.
I've set this series on mt DVR for record, so I won't miss it next week.

My icon is a picture of the psychic, too. :-) You missed that episode. :-)

If Dean: you've missed a lot, an exceptional season, apparently.
If Sam: Don't bother watching any more episodes as he's hardly there, and when he is, he's pretty much joined Daniel and Teal'c in S4/5 as pretty wallpaper. Bitter much? Yes, I am.

I take no sides with SPN.

I swear I recognized the boy who played Cole, too, but I still haven't figure out from where. I think what Tessa told him was supposed to negate what Sam told him, because what Sam told him was a big, fat lie in an attempt to get the kid to help them.

Unearthly beauty? Put Jamie Bamber in a pair of wings, baby, that's unearthly...or Ioaon Gryffud. Man. Whistles. THAT is ethereal.
Oh, you know who that kid reminded me of? The kid who played Edmond in The Lion The Witch and the Wardrobe! It's the big brown eyes. I'll have to find him in IMDB.

And while I get what Deej is saying - I think there's a reason Sam seems to be wallpapered. I was irritated about it at first as well, but his bigger story? Is pretty big.

I don't think I've actually seen him in anything else.

I don't get the "unearthly beauty" vibe, but especially in the beginning of the season he was doing very well at plain old "unearthly".

You have missed quite a lot, I must say. ;)
