Ah, the psychology of lying
This episode was okay. It's entertainment. I did think it was funny that Henry was their Lie Detector. Somehow, I kept feeling like the writers didn't use that gutsy compulsive liar to as good effect as they could have. I can't pin it down...I guess I think that the Liar, if written that way, would have made a HUGE trickster to Shawn's own trickster, adding new layers of truth (or not) to Shawn's world. A guy that good at lying? Whoa, watch out. Used sparingly, he'd be awesome as a sometime not-quite-nemesis.

And on Burn Notice:

Burn Notice-total fun. Gabrielle Anwar is still skinnier than any woman has a right to survive, but wow, she's really toned up and worked those muscles. She's still not totally believable as a woman who weighs 102 pounds beating up on beefy guys like she does, but at least she *looks* more like the part. Her frisson with Michael as the character is still good. I missed Mom, though. Sam? Is awesome and keeps getting better. I wouldn't say that he's stealing the show from the Star, but Bruce Campbell really has the touch for not overshadowing the rest of the cast-which you TOTALLY know he could do, if he had a mind to. Luckily, he's a team player. This show keeps getting better.

I agree with you about Bruce Campbell. He plays Sam with a fascinating mix of comic and serious which balances Michael nicely since otherwise things could get too heavy or too grim. This way....just right!

I think Campbell really got a handle on Sam at the end of the first season ? I think, when he was shown resisting torture (a beating) for a couple of days.

He might be informing to the FBI but he strings them along. Hmm. You know, I've noticed that the informant part of his role hasn't come up recently. Was that dropped? I don't remember! I guess the writers decided to put that aspect of his character on the back burner.

I think that aspect of things sort of drifted away when the two agents that Sam "reported" to left town and never seemed to be replaced. I guess they finally realized he was stringing them along (or perhaps that was around the time they introduced the whole thing with Carla, I can't remember)
