Jan. 20th, 2009 02:21 pmFor those who want to hear Obama's Inauguration speech whenever you want, it's already up on iTunes! You can subscribe (if you want) to his weekly radio addresses-that's where the speech is, right now.
Wow. His staffers were well prepared for this change-over. Amazing how fast all this is coming out.

Date: 2009-01-21 06:33 pm (UTC)They said this speech was much more subdued than his campaign speeches, which were filled with fancy rhetoric. Yet he still managed to put Bush in his place, albeit politely.
As far as the economic recession is concerned, it's evident that Americans are happy to have Obama in charge. And they're being rather realistic about what it's going to take to recover, as well. The feeling is that it's going to take a great deal of time to put things right again. People trust Obama and are willing to be patient with him, to allow him the time to do things right instead of demanding an instant fix. That's a great feeling, one I haven't felt for a very long time.
It was really nice, too, that Republicans didn't come down hard on Obama after his speech. Still, it remains to be seen whether Congress will cooperate with him instead of blocking his every move.
