Help! Looking for a song but can't figure out what it is!

I need help in finding a particular song.  I heard it on the radio recently, and the artist sounded familiar but I can't place him; it's a guy. It's a slow-paced song, and one of the refrain phrases is "when we were young" and I remember the word "compromised". It's definitely not the Fray since I checked their list on iTunes. It's a recent song, sometime from the past year or two (pretty sure).

Have you tried websites where you can enter some of the lyrics and it'll search for the song for you?

Sadly, yes. :-( And all they'd do is send me to some weird rap and rapper group, or a punk rock group or something like that.

I guess I might have to hear it again, note the time and station, and figure it out that way.
