We're tackling it, but we want people to come tackle it with us. Seriously, that looks huge and official, but so far that part of the site is five people and a page of the site.

Aside from the things already mentioned, I and the other GWers who are going to be staffing our table at DragonCon 2008 are going to be actively taking part in The Open Source Back Each Other Up Project ( http://backupproject.org/ ) while there, and the more people who hop on board, the better! Also, our table is going to be a designated safe space, so if anyone needs support or just to get away from it all, we'll back them 100%.

Harassment

That's great. But there also needs to be official presence and back-up. Not to mention a foolproof way to involve police if it comes to it. (haven't checked out your link yet: I'm responding to your comment only)

And no matter how many people are specifically involved in that particular page, it's five more who are involved. I don't go to cons anymore but I have friends who do, and any venue that keeps the cause of beating harrassment up and down and out gets my vote and whatever support I can give it.

There totally *does* and that is the *point*. We're doing what we can for each other, bootstrap style, while fighting to get something official. We *want* something official.
