9 foot tapeworm *what*?!

Man gets sick, finds out he had a 9 foot tapeworm in his gut, and is now suing Shaw's Restaurant (in Chicago) for undercooking his salmon. The type of tapeworm he had usually comes from undercooked salmon.

9 feet? Wow. That's pretty disgusting.

Ew! That was one of my biggest fears as a child. A few years ago, hypochondriac that I am, I thought I had a tapeworm, and my doctor laughed at me. I've been vegetarian for 22 years and vegan for at least 15 or more years, and apparently you can only get that from eating meat.

Melodie (rentgirl one) once amused me with articles about products from the late 1800s. The one that intrigued us the most? Tapeworm eggs to be used as diet pills. Can you imagine? I'm pretty sure back in those days it was a bit harder to "cure" tapeworms than it is now. Gah!

All in all, I think Weight Watchers is easier.
