Apr. 9th, 2008 11:52 pmI see this Nepalese god as being very unhappy with the way people have treated the planet. It's so much worse than I ever imagined. Yes, I've been reading The World Without Us. Makes me want to send the world back into the Stone Age, but that is a fancy only a dystopian (or utopian?) SF/F/H writer would come up with.
You MUST read this book. It should be required reading in high school, college, and for the senators and congresspeople, not to mention the president/leader of the country. Damn.

Date: 2008-04-11 04:29 am (UTC)It also reminds me of a show on one of the Discovery Channels or something a month or so ago. It was a two-hour docusensationalizeddrama about what would happen to the planet if humans suddenly stopped existing. Pretty cool. Did you see that show? No doubt it was prompted by the release of this book. How would you compare the two? Is the book heavy on the science aspect? I love stuff like that...
