You think cell phones are pervasive here in the US? Just look and see what it's like in Japan. Now, this is a scary story featuring how dependent many children are on their cell phones, and how isolating it is for many of them.
People are just generally stupid. Parents don't think beyond the immediacy of 'cool technology' and never consider what's happening to their kids when they have essentially dropped them off in the middle of an entire city/planet? full of strangers.
Yeah, I had to read that sentence a couple of times before I believed what I was reading. Um...most salespeople HATE having their first names on name cards...unless the article writer meant business cards. That would make more sense.
