Why  do hamburger packs (fresh ground, from the store) always come in four packs, while the hamburger buns come in six to a pack?

Why do hot dogs come eight to a pack, while hot dog buns come ten to a pack? 

Why is this? Can't the manufacturers agree upon a set number for each?

That reminds me of that Steve Martin movie, Father of the Bride, I think it was... Did you ever see that scene?

What's amusing is that Smart Dogs (fake, vegetarian hot dogs) come FIVE to a pack if you buy the big ones. If our whole family has them, this actually works out okay since MW and lyraeinne each have two and I only have one, but still, they don't match up with the rolls. It's annoying.
