Okay, Heroes got my attention back tonight. Why? Here are the reasons:
1. Peter's pointless story was not shown
2. Hiro's increasingly trite and cliche-ridden story was not shown
3. We got to see more of Nathan and he shaved that huge bush off his face. I didn't recognize him in that scene with Matt for a few moments!
4. We got to see some actual forward movement with the Wonder Death Twins.
5. The Wonder Death Twins met up with Sylar, thereby causing more interest in their story. Maybe Alejandro will mistakenly heal Sylar? Maybe Sylar will take Alejandro and keep the girl as his power-slave, since he'll be the only one able to calm her down? Interesting possibilities there.
6. We find out that Matt's Dad is the Horror Face in Molly's Dreams - and where Matt inherited his variety of telepathy. If his father can do that, you have to wonder what Matt's full capabilities are.
7. Angela, Nathan's mother, is now starting to redeem herself and simultaneously makes me ask, "What the heck did she DO that was so horrible in her younger days that would make murder a minor matter"?
8. No stupid Peter's storyline. Oh, I said that one already, didn't I? Sorry. Not.
9. More coverage of Micah. Can Micah do stuff to people? There was some hint when he hugged his cousin (the girl). I wonder if Micah's powers are of a similar type to Sylar's, only oriented slightly differently. His cousin only exhibited her powers AFTER Micah appeared. I think Micah is also a "fixer" and "repairer".
10. Mohinder, Matt and Molly. Need I say more? I want more!
11. HRG (Noah) is also lying to his family at the same time Claire is starting to lie to HIM. Now, why does he have to go to Odessa, Ukraine? Interesting.
12. The Haitian showed up again! What's he been up to?
13. Claire's mother is still there...the angles and cinematography of Claire's mother and brother was very strange. It's almost as if HRG was back to his old tricks with The Haitian and mindwiping his son and wife's minds. Just a tad, mind you. The mom is getting creepier by the episode. I know she's messed up because of all the memory treatments, but, it's just so wrong.
14. The way that the older generation is being woven into the story; plainly there are more and more connections that are being uncovered. Makes it much more fun.
15. The sense of forward movement in the plot/s. Yes, finally, after leaving Amnesia Pete behind for an episode, the writers were able to get away from a nonsensical storyline and get it going, revved up. They shouldn't concentrate on one storyline so heavily for so long and neglect the others for so long.
16. There was that flash of mangled Nathan's face in the mirror again. What's going on with that? I'll give it one more flash appearance and then I'm going to start getting irritated. I'd like some background on what happened after he flew off with Peter and what the hell Ireland has to do with the rest of the show.
17. A bare amount of ship. Is West truly what he appears to be? Could he be the child of a breeding program as well? (that's what I'm getting...his father is probably one of the older generation in that photograph, too, maybe Matt's younger brother)
18. A mystery solved in the only way it could be: Matt's wife'd baby was the Other Man's. Simple, but okay, gets her out of the way. Guess the fact it wasn't his got to him. Not every man would be *that* tolerant. But...oh well.
19. Micah's cousin. She's a hot one. I think I'm going to like her. I like her variant of the Waitress's power of instant learning; and she's as likable as the Waitress (sorry, I'm blanking on her name). I wonder what power Nana has, if any. She wasn't in that photo, was she? I didn't think so...but she might have some connection with the man Peter originally nursed in the first season (he had a scene with him up on the roof, he was whatshername's father). I wouldn't doubt it. Hmmm.
One thing that I thought WAS wrong was NO ANDO! I'm sorry, but Ando doesn't need to wait for an episode with Hiro in it in order to be in the plot. Ando is back in Japan, though, and no one else is, so he's seemingly isolated from the rest of the story physically.

Date: 2007-10-16 03:55 pm (UTC)Really starting to hate Claire, but I like the new waitress (dang, what is her NAME?) and Nichelle Nichols has amazing eyes.
I fear for Peter's storyline. The Irish woman was bad enough, but now Kristen Bell? Really? Ugh.
I'm not sure the burned face in the mirrors is really Nathan's.

Date: 2007-10-20 05:28 am (UTC)I agree about Maya and Alejandro's power. Maybe there's some other purpose to it. I agree with gategrll, though, that having them meet up with Sylar made them a little more interesting--and I don't even like Sylar or his storyline. *g*

Date: 2007-10-17 03:01 am (UTC)I don't think Micah can "fix" people, but he wanted to fix his cousin. I find it interesting that both of their powers seem to relate to electronics -- he fixes them and can almost "talk" to them in a sense, while she can learn anything she sees on TV.
10. Mohinder, Matt and Molly. Need I say more? I want more!
Yes please. It was just killing me at the end, with the look of horror on Matt's face as he can still hear Molly's screams.
14. The way that the older generation is being woven into the story; plainly there are more and more connections that are being uncovered. Makes it much more fun.
The first season really played around with our current generation meeting or almost meeting, and how their lives intertwined. It seems to be a repeat of what happened with their own parents, which makes it even more interesting.
16. There was that flash of mangled Nathan's face in the mirror again. What's going on with that?
I'm reminded of the whole Niki/Jessica and one seeing the other in mirrors thing. I have this half-baked theory that Peter can't remember who he is because his psyche is taking a Spock-like ride within Nathan's mind. This might be possible somehow because Peter would have taken on Niki/Jessica's power too.
17. A bare amount of ship. Is West truly what he appears to be? Could he be the child of a breeding program as well? (that's what I'm getting...his father is probably one of the older generation in that photograph, too, maybe Matt's younger brother)
West just creeps me the hell out. I hadn't thought about him being the child of one of the older generation, but my thinking was he's a Company plant, trying to turn Claire against her father.
18. A mystery solved in the only way it could be: Matt's wife'd baby was the Other Man's. Simple, but okay, gets her out of the way. Guess the fact it wasn't his got to him. Not every man would be *that* tolerant. But...oh well.
I was actually surprised that thought didn't occur to anyone last season. I get the impression maybe TPTB had intended for it to be his child, but decided to go another route with the character, so they had to remove the wife and child.
