Oct. 13th, 2007 03:39 pm Target is looking for seasonal workers, and printed up a flyer for prospective employees. After Little guy goes through his tonsilectomy, I'll probably go and sign up at the in-store computer station. Thing is, I haven't worked at a "real job" in years. I don't even know the names of the temp companies I worked *for* ten years ago - I think one of them was Kelley. Oh well. Can't suceed until you try, eh? I hope I can get Mother's Hours.

Date: 2007-10-14 06:16 am (UTC)For seasonal part-time, bookstores can also be fun. I've done that a couple of times - co-workers tend to be a bit more educated, and you can often read entire books over a few days during your breaks, and you get a discount. Barnes and Noble is the most uptight one to work at - Borders is pretty fun.

Date: 2007-10-19 02:18 am (UTC)You'll do fine. Be confident and know you have a lot to offer, regardless of job history.
I'll call soon. I miss you.

Date: 2007-10-19 06:55 am (UTC)And tomorrow I have to get up around 4:30ish am in order to get ready to take Little Guy (not so little anymore!) for his early morning 7:30am surgery. We have to be at the hospital at 5:30, what an ungodly hour. And yes, it's almost midnight, and I'm not in bed yet.
And two of Nerys' friends asked if they could have sleep overs this weekend (one of them for two nights!). I've told both that we'll have to see how Little Guy is doing. He's going to be groggy a lot during this weekend, I think.

Date: 2007-10-19 05:14 pm (UTC)It would probably be best if Nerys' friends spent the night later. I still have my tonsils, but I understand your throat is pretty sore for a couple of days. You don't need any more stress.
I'll give you a call next week. Is it OK to call in the evenings? I usually get home from work around 5:00.
Hugs and good thoughts.
