She's not the only blogger to get a book deal. One woman wrote about getting through her divorce and got a book deal. If you're funny or poignant, or preferably both, I think you can write about almost any aspect of life and have a shot.

The eBay story is a riot. I had the pleasure of reading it only a few days after she put it up. The word spread very quickly. And the comparison to Erma Bombeck is spot on.
