the Funniest moment I've seen recently on television, in a scripted series, was on Psych, in an episode called "9 Lives", in which the two main characters are trying to figure out who is murdering people and making it look like suicides.  They go to the apartment of the brother of one of the victims (who has a cat). The brother is trying to lease out/sell his apartment, which he shared with his brother.

The main character (mindwiping on his name, sorry) starts to make it seem like he and his best friend-buddy are looking for a place "together" and he milks the appearance that they're gay lovers to the max. It was great!  I still have it on record, so I may watch it again, soon. I wasn't expecting something like that!

I was reluctant to try it, because, well...so many people were going gaga over it, and I'm pigheaded. But I gave it a try, and I'm really enjoying it. It's light, it's funny, the two leads are appealing, and the stories are decent. And I love the relationship between Shawn and his father - although so far, no mention of his mother.

Nialla, did the guy have a mother, and if so, what's the deal with her?

And there are flashbacks to when Shawn is a kid. Sometimes you get a memory with Gus in it, sometimes just with his dad the cop, but always, they have something to do with the current case.

Oh; and there's an actor who plays a cop who looks JUST LIKE Mr. Bean (on British television)

Psych is one of those shows that goes there... often. It's hysterical. I love the one where they're visiting a sorority house that's supposedly haunted and end up running out screaming. I'd say it was girly screaming, but the girls that were actually there didn't run out. ;)

I also had a lot of fun playing "Spot the Former Stargate Guest Star." ;)

A friend and I joke that Canadian actors are trying to take over the world. Not that we have a real problem with it. ;)

Ah yes. At first I thought it was just Gus - but when it was Shawn, too, giving Gus a lame excuse - and all the women were still in the sorority house wondering what the hell was going on - yes, hysterical!

If only the DVDs weren't so gosh-darned expensive.

One heck of an icon there, Nialla.

Hey, any explanation yet about Shawn's mother?

Not that I can recall, but I'm not 100% certain. It's one of those shows I just watch and have fun, and I don't always remember some of the finer points.

Oh oh oh!

If they had to recast Murphy on Dresden Files, the woman who plays the police chief on Psych would be perfect. She's great. Is she *really* pregnant, or is that just her character? (stupid question, I know)

I'm not sure if she was really pregnant or not. Have you seen the episode where she has the baby?

Oh, and have you found the "Psych Outs" and character blogs on the official site? The former are outtakes and silly bits, while the latter are blogs written "in character."

If you thought the playing into the slashy subtext was funny, you should see one of the Psych Outs where Lassiter is trying to restrain Shawn and the actors lose it and it looks like they're making out.

Be sure to play "Spot the Stargate Guest Actor" but don't do it as a drinking game or you'll be really toasted. Steve Bacic, Don S. Davis, Christopher Heyerdahl, Anne Marie DeLuise (Peter's wife, who's guest starred in at least two eps), Ben Cotton, David Nykl, not to mention Colin Cunningham and Teryl Rothery in the same episode. There's probably even more that I didn't catch.
