The Guy couldn't stand it last night - he's such a kid. He asked me if he could bring out a present for me that wasn't wrapped, and fairly bounced down the hallway and back, and presented me with a box of DVDs... The first half of the first season of Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea!

So after the most recent episode of CSI Miami was over (and we'd finished laughing at it), he popped in the first DVD of the set - he was more eager than *I* was! And we had MORE laughs watching the first episode. I'll admit, I had a major crush on David Hedison back in Jr High because of this show. I thought he was pretty sexy and was da bomb!  He's still actually not that bad, but er...no major crush.

While watching the pilot episode, I kept asking how the actors kept straight faces during so many of the scenes. I mean...submarine, adventure, high level baddies like on James Bond films, it was so funny!

I wonder what else he bought me, since he's so chomping at the the bit to give me more presents.  Hee. Not more DVDs? I might treat myself to The Dead Zone season one...and a haircut.

It sounds like it might be appropriate to wish you Happy Birthday - so, Happy Birthday.

I had a crush on David Hedison as Lee Crane as well - I watched the first season DVDs while I was experimenting with Netflix. I think I was more heartless than you -- although the first season was more earthbound than later seasons, as I recall.

I also watched the first season of Time Tunnel - another remembered favorite, that does not wear well this many decades later - although Tony was pretty cute - even on DS9!

Now I'm waiting for It Takes a Thief to come out on DVD...

Well, okay, it was pretty awful, but considering the way shows were produced back then (not TOO differently than now - there are a lot of silly shows NOW) it was okay...in a *really* silly way, of course.

I watched it and kept wondering how these grown men felt about being in such childish fare! But I guess it was a paycheck!

Presents? Do you have a birthday coming up, or was it an Easter/Passover/Earth Day gift? :)

I wish I had a guy like your guy! He sounds like fun!

Oh, yeah. I turned 42 this morning, which means that I should be able to understand Life, The Universe, and Everything. Sadly, I don't think I was awake at the time, and missed this information motherlode. ;-)

No, no. I turned 46 last December, and the older I get, the more I realize that I don't really know or understand about life, love, and anything else. *g*

OMG! I loved that show so much! *g* I also had a major crush on David Hedison! *g* It's so much fun to revisit old shows, isn't it?

Happy birthday (if it's your birthday? *g*)!
