I hope when RDA's Jack O'Neill shows up on the Stargate movie (the time-screw one) that he and Sam end up together. Really.

Besides, the Jack/Carter shippers got what they wanted in every single alternate reality while RDA was on the show. They've had MORE than enough of their share of ship. Those of us that despise ship should at least get SOMETHING out of SG1 after 10 years of all that shit. And by something I mean we should at least be able to enjoy the movies WITHOUT having any ship there to fuck things up. ;)

TO me that means I should also be able to "enjoy" the movies without V'D rearing up ITS ugly head, either, but instead, if I decided to watch it, it'll probably be yet another ship-fest as well.

If the show is going to be ruined for some, why not all?

But see the thing is, if it was erased at the end of S10, why would there be any ship at all in the movies? I mean other than the usual UST that the SG1 writers seem incapable of NOT writing?

The Jack/Carter shippers got their "wedding" numerous times in the series, they've gotten, in my opinion, MORE than enough "canon" for their ship. And while I understand you hating Daniel/Vala, like a lot *g*, those of us that hate Jack/Carter are in the same boat but have dealt with it for YEARS as opposed to the what, year and a half with Vala? So while I'd rather NO ship in the movies, and actually don't really expect much if any at all, I don't think that those of us that have had Jack/Carter pushed on us for 6 LONG years should be grouped in the 'if it's ruined for us it should be ruined for you' camp. The SHOW was ruined for me, for SIX years. :P I'd like the movies to not totally suck for me too. ;)

Uh uh uh, my dear fcol, no putting me in the "us vs them" camp. I despise Jack/Sam as much as V/D *however* at this point, I'm feeling that if I feel the show is ruined and HAS been ruined for me equally by both ships, then heck, why not go the full farthing, you know?

I've dealt with hating Sam and Sam/Jack as much as anyone else. To me, this would be icing on the disgust-cake.

Sam/Jack ruined Jack for me. V/D ruined Daniel for me. THE two most important characters in the lexicon of Stargate. THE two most appealing characters down the crapper.

Yeah, it's partly spite. But you know what? I sincerely doubt RDA is actually going to try to act. To actually get back into character. Nope, he's going to mug it all the way through his scenes, and the PTB aren't going to give us any "Jack/Daniel" scenes anyhow. Why not? Why, silly Daniel/Jack fans got theirs already!

I think it's already pretty well zipped up that Jack'n'Sam are going to be an item anyhow.

I agree, the ship ruined Jack COMPLETELY. And I can't really say if it ruined Daniel as I stopped watching because of the Jack/Carter ship, but from what I've seen spoiler wise it does sound as if he was ruined as well (I'm not liking the implications that they turned Daniel into a prick). Which yeah, absolutely sucks. But I can't agree that just because they've done two stupid things in this series that they should go ahead and ruin every last ounce of the show they possibly can.

I haven't seen any spoilers for the movies that would suggest RDA was coming back specifically for the ship so until I see that I will hold out hope that they aren't going that route (and honestly, I can't see them doing it at all really because if they have them get together what the HELL is Carter doing going to Atlantis for god knows how long?? And that would ruin any chance for the writers to fuck up SGA with more Carter ship and we ALL know that's all Mallozzi and Mullie are capable of writing).

I get the spite thing, I do, but I don't agree with it. ;) I'd be pissed as all get out if they had John and Teyla get together on SGA but I wouldn't want them to turn around and ruin the show even MORE by having Rodney get together with say Carter. And saying that it was ruined for you by both ships and therefore they might as well go ahead and ruin it for EVERYONE isn't exactly fair. ;) I know it's not fair that it was ruined for you, but there are still some people that can enjoy the show--ignore the ship because they tend to do things like erase it or make it another reality or whatever--and I don't think the show should be ruined for them just for spite. ;) *g* I mean--I stopped watching because of Jack/Carter and while I wanted to spork the fuck out of the writers for ruining the show for me, I didn't want them to do something else equally as stupid to ruin it for everyone else that was still able to enjoy it.

And as for RDA, honestly, his guest appearances have MOSTLY been between him and Michael right? There was the stupid wedding in 200 yes, but really, his guest spots were more about Jack and Daniel than coming to see Carter. I think he's made it pretty obvious that he enjoys the Jack/Daniel banter and I would HOPE that the writers would take that into consideration when they write his part for the movie. I can't honestly see RDA coming back specifically to say, okay so Jack and Carter are getting together because while he might have had fun playing with it in the beginning, I think by the end he hated the ship as much as us. ;) Hence the whole phoned in acting thing and the obvious boredom with the writers writing Jack as little more than Carter's love interest. So no, until I see proof that that's what they're planning, I won't believe they'll actually have Jack and Carter get together because like I said, it would muck up any potential storyline they could spew up Carter/'love-interest' wise on SGA and considering Carter's storylines on SG1 for the last like what 4 seasons were little more than who she was bedding, lusting after, marrying, not marrying, I can't see the two chocolate drips being able to come up with a whole season that never EVER mentions her latest fling.

So while I get the whole disappointment and anger over the Daniel/Vala thing, and that you're kind of at the point of 'who cares now anyway'...I care. ;) And I think a lot of other people care too.

I've NEVER enjoyed ship on SG1, unless you count Daniel/Shau'ri and Jack/Sara and I'll NEVER be happy to see them go ahead with ship between the team because I'll always be pissed that they're implying it's simply IMPOSSIBLE for a man and woman to work closely together and NOT end up in bed, or end up falling in love. Hello, people do that every freaking day. *grumbles*

*****snerk* Sorry!!! I really need to cut down on my rambling*****

But that being said, this show was like my obsession for 8 years (before I stopped watching) and now that it's over, or will be with the two movies, I want to be able to say, okay they ended it good, they ended it in a way everyone (or almost everyone) could be happy with. I honestly want it to end in a way that will allow me to go back and finish watching the rest of the series without constantly wanting to set fire to my DVDs. And ending it with MORE ship, won't do that. It will only assure I never ever watch the movies or the rest of the series, EVER. And as STUNNED as the writers are most of the time, I don't think they're stupid enough to end the entire series in a way that will piss off two thirds of their entire fanbase.

They ended the season with ship that got erased at the end--that's no worse than the whole annoying, so fraking annoying, alternate realities where EVERY Jack and Carter were married and Daniel was never part of the program. The shippers get what they want and those that don't like the ship can hang onto the fact that it was all erased at the end. Just like those of us that HATE ship were able to say 'it was just an alternate reality, it wasn't real for this one'. *shrugs* But having the movies actually end with "real" ship--ship that doesn't get erased, or isn't from some AR, would literally stop a LOT of fans from watching/buying/renting these movies and as they're all out for the almighty buck I don't think they'd shoot themselves in the foot like that. Especially as there's always a chance of more stargate movies.

Okay and I will totally stop rambling and spamming your LJ now. *snerk* You're free to feel what you feel hon, (I can't really say anything as you know how much I love to rant and rave about everything and anything under the sun *g*) I'm not trying to tell you not to feel that way--just that I hope the writers don't do what you're suggesting. ;)

I agree with you about S/J btw - that we'll get that in the 2nd movie. Why? Because I remember listening to commentary on Lost City - back when it was supposed to be the *movie*, they were going to *go* there with Sam/Jack. There was actually supposed to be kissing and everything.
