It's been two weeks (give or take) since I've joined the YMCA, and already I feel better. And Mermaid is loving having access to a pool. And my back feels better. And I can feel my arms getting stronger, along with muscles I haven't felt in a looong time. Haven't lost any weight, though, but the reason for that is, I've been pigging out, probably because my muscles are working, and my body hasn't had this much exercise in ages.

Date: 2007-03-20 04:33 am (UTC)I think I *have* gained a pound or so, but it's hard to tell because of how much my body water fluctuates from day to day. I still look a little chunky (I'm 161 or thereabouts). And tomorrow is water aquacize day, and I do weight lifting/strengthening along with it. When I leave, I leave feeling like a noodle.
I have started upping my weights, too, a couple of pounds or so per station. Do you do the Fitlinxx circle?

Date: 2007-03-20 04:57 am (UTC)I do cross training on Life Fitness machines where you adjust the weight by five pounds (minimum) and move from one to the next to work all the muscle groups.
