A short observation re: Vala in The Shroud - NOT V/D friendly, so skip it if you don't like AntiVala

 Just a note: with all the squeeing, you'd think Vala was sliding up and down Daniel's dick when she sat on his lap. 

And for the record? A lot of the people orgasming over that were soooo happyhappyjoyjoy when there was not a taint of Sam/Jack ship to be seen.   ::rolls eyes::   What's good for the goose should be good for the gander. What's inappropriate behavior for one couple, is inappropriate for both couples.

That's rationalization. They're on the same team. It's the same argument that the anti-Sam/Jackers have used for that pairing.

Doesn't fly with me. It's inappropriate behavior. And, I've read on other forums, that a lot of folks took Vala's lap-dance to be silly and childish.

I completely agree. I was THRILLED that they didn't put in any Sam/Jack but some of the responses I've seen from people because of that have been way too immature. Personally I don't like the idea of J/S or D/V so I don't want to see either of them being shippy in an episode. I'm pretty happy about The Shroud and the Jack/Daniel interaction that came from it was great and very missed but I could have done without Vala sitting on his lap.

I guess that "sitting on the lap of Daniel" thing was to show something that not even Jack would do! What other reason was it in there for?

I keep hearing that the reason Vala does and says the things she does because she's still so emotionally immature - but to me, that means she's immature in a BAD way. Sam Carter has at least proven her mettle and *acts* professionally, as far as the viewer can tell (w/the exception of being in Jack's august presence). Whereas Vala - she never acts professionally, and is a total little-girl. Where did her mature-sexed woman go? And can they chuck the little girl sex kitten?

I'm tempted to watch it. But then I'd be tempted to throw my computer monitor across the room, and I don't want to do that.

Does the presence of Jack ameliorate the Vala effect? Nope. Why? Because Jack has been shown to be an ass, for several seasons now. Too little too late. It's like getting the baked doggie bone when what you really wanted was the lamb chop leg, thick with meat and dripping with juices.
