Xmas Day

Dec. 25th, 2005 12:20 pm
As usual, the kids are all over the place, here and at a neighbor's house.

Mermaid woke up around 7:15ish then came into the bedroom where Little Guy had come in sometime during the early morning (always when I'm totally asleep, and can't punt him back to his bed). We had to wake Little Guy up. The kids went ahead and went through their stockings. Then Hubby got up and fetched the video camera out, while I got out the digital camera. The kids did well. Nothing huge, but that doesn't have to happen every year. Hubby got me that portable DVD player I'd mused about, so I could go watch my movies and shows in the privacy of my room, while I got him that Space Above and Beyond series, plus those two old comedies. I think he liked Caddy Shack. It's like The Princess Bride, full of classic lines.

Son's DVD of Max and Ruby is on right now, but I might kick that off and watch something else.

To Everyone -- Merry Happy Enjoyable Holidays!

I'm finding it to be a very flexible, useful writer's program. I downloaded the demo from this site http://www.writerscafe.co.uk/ . The demo, is of course, more limited than the full version, but it does give you five story through-lines to set up and 30 cards to use for plotting.

It does not adhere to any philosophy of writing, unlike Dramatica or other similiar softward, and the only thing you need to learn is where things go.  You can import scenes you've written, and if you're the type of writer who likes to write out of order, it's fantastic for that. All you have to do is import that scene (if you've already written it), make it a note, and put it in the "pocket" or unassigned file.

I could go into deeper detail about it but all you have to do is check out the demo and see for yourself.  I'm not an agent for the folks who developed this, but I think it's a great little program for all sorts of writers, no matter what their style of writing is.
