I just wanted to add that it was like watching Within the Serpent's Grasp again--something like that.

Let's just say...we need to recover a bit, but we won't get to do that until September.

I hate cliffhangers. But I love cliffhangers.

Gah.

Oooh, or think about how S:AAB ended, only we're pretty sure this one won't be the series ender.

What's S:AAB?

Aizjanika gave me a run-down - it sounds like a season ender for Alias, actually, with Sydney and Vaughn hit by that truck at the last second right after they got married and he started confessing something.

Space: Above and Beyond, and I meant more as in potential finality as far as character fates go, not actua events. ;)

actual

Okay, now -- what's the significance of the bullets in the gun that the brothers carry around? Are they specially magiked, and there's a limited number of these bullets?

They only recently obtained the gun - it's definitely got power to kill anything. Thirteen bullets (silver, I think) were made, and...seven used before they got it, I think. It's assumed that once the special bullets are gone, the gun's just a gun.

Dad used one a couple of weeks ago. Sam used one last week. Dean used on this week, and then Sam another.

I can't remember the total count. I think my numbers are off somewhere. But they're counting on this gun and whatever bullets they have left to kill the thing that killed their mother.

Didn't Sam say in the final moments that there's only one bullet left? No pressure there.

Yeah, but I couldn't figure out how many times they used it. I still think there were six bullets left, but I can only remember them shooting it 4 times, which would leave two. Did Sam fire 2 shots at the demon in the bedroom in Salvation?

I think it was the shock of the speed with which it happened that was so jarring. We thought the ep was over. We thought, that, while definitely bruised and battered, that our heroes were escaping with their lives. We were breathing. We were joyful that our guys were breathing. Then wham! That changed in the space of like 5 seconds of onscreen time. It was devasting in a way that the Alias crash was not. Maybe it's just that, while I care about Sydney and Vaughn, I love these guys and it hurt!
