I failed to write a single word yesterday. Nadaword.
I'm stuck, I think, because I've been surfing the surface of the characters and their relationships, and not going for the throat, which is what WOULD have happened, had I not only been going for the wordcount.
There's a character who's soul has been shorn in half. Half of her is in possession by this really Bad Dude, along with her mother and brothers (and I think her father, but I don't know). Her *other* half is being taken care of by her friend who was there when the Bad Dude was originally chased off (to fight yet another day). So, you'd think there'd be more fireworks, but as it is, all I've done is hint about how much the Good Guy hates this Bad Dude -- and also hinted that perhaps he (the Good Guy) perhaps has his own mixed feelings about caretaking for a half-soul who's a girl when they each had barely time in their living lives to be *themselves*. Gar. These three alone are more than enough for a novella, I think, if I really thought about the interrelationships going on.
