I was so disappointed. When I put my fic through the wordcounter to get the counter thing, it said 1300 or something like that, but when I used the one at the NaNoWriMo site later, it said only 600+. Yikes. That is a big difference. I guess I'll use the one at the site from now on and enter the counts in manually to the counter sites.
I think I'll do that also - I didn't know that Word inflates the word counter like that. But, it seemed to pass last year in the word counter. I'll let you know if my wordcount changes from that!
I didn't either, but this wasn't Word. I put it through one of those online word counters to get the count in order to get that meter thing. I think I won't use that one again either because, while it worked at first, the graphics became "broken" after a while. Ah well.
