So, I'm at a Walgreens looking for an OTC muscle relaxant for my hubby, who's got a spasming back muscle and sciatic nerve pain, and notice the rack that's full of discount DVDs.

I thumb through the DVDs there, and find Volume 1.2 of Andromeda for $6, which I didn't pick up -- but if ANYONE on my flist wants it, tell me NOW, so I can run over there and pick it up for you.

There were two Pilates DVDs. Took them out of the rack. And.....(drum roll please!)

Century Hotel with David Hewlett in it!

Yep, that's right. Right there. Staring at me, with a $5.99 label on it. Since I'd heard good things about it on the Hewlett Fan Club flist, I snapped it up. I'll give it a watch. If I decide not to keep it, and someone might want it later, let me know.

At the two pharmacies that I went to, they both told me that muscle relaxants are NOT over-the-counter, they have to be prescribed.

However, what you can do is take an Ibuprofen *and* an aspirin at the same time. Plus, get one of those dry heat pads that sticks to your body. When you take aspirin and ibuprofen together, the effects of both are amplified - another mother at a campsite told me about that (with a RN present who agreed) when Mermaid burned her hand on a firering and got a second-degree burn.

I hope that helps, Star! And hope you feel better soon. :-(

I've got heat pads, ibuprofen and aspirin (and a loving brother willing to wait on me) at home, so I think I'm set ;-> Thanks!!
