I am rereading "The Shining" by Stephen King. Fucking book still scares me, even though I know how it all turns out. I think I want to get the miniseries starring Steven Weber as Jack Torrance. It was much closer to the book than Kubrick's version...but either filmed version is frighten the daylights out of you scarey. Book's a masterpeice.

I tried downloading one of brihana25's newest Vid, and guess what I found out? My two gigs of hard-drive are all filled up! So, I had to delete a whole bunch of vids and photofiles (the photofiles I copied onto a larger hard-disc on the puter, so it's not lost). And I'm defragging all the drives I have, and my AVG virus checker found a "loveletter" virus last night, and another virus a couple of nights before that! WTF is going on?

Today is Mermaid's first day of school. Yay! Next week is Little Guy's Very First Day of School, Ever. DOUBLE YAY!

On Sat the 24th Hollywood Cemetary is showing The Shining for their last Saturday Night movie for this year.

I have conflicted feelings about seeing it in a cemetary. On one hand it sounds kinda cool. On the other, I'm wondering how creeped out and scared I'll end up.

A cemetary sounds like the perfect place to see it! Well, hey, at least they aren't showing "Pet Cemetary", right? :-D

The gates open at 6:30. The cemetary is in Hollywood on Santa Monica. Everyone just brings blankets and food for a picnic dinner.

And it's a Saturday night, too? Oh, wow, I'm going to have to see if I can make it to this. I mean, it's KUBRICK! It's a SK story! It's SCARYSHIT!

What time does the movie actually start? Is parking tight? Oh, right...Santa Monica, of course it's tight. Do you bring food when you go? Would you mind squeeing and hiding your face under a blanket? Wait, it's on Santa Monica, not IN Santa Monica.

It's on Santa Monica and Gower in Hollywood. The movie actually starts at 8, but you pretty much need to get there when the gates open to get a spot.

We always park inside, some folks find parking in the area and walk in. It's 10 bucks per person either way.

We eat once we get there.

Squeeing and hiding is fine.

Gonna mark it on the calender so I don't forget. Yeah, yeah, memory goes from worse to pitiful when school and girl scouts start up in September.

Also must remember to bring some good food, a little wine (but not too much, cuz I'm driving). A blanket. Check, one in the car. I hope they have portapotties available.
