Sookie Stackhouse (Southern Vampire) series

I've got a new book review up on Hathor-not to worry, Charlaine Harris' first three books get an overall thumbs up from me (with a couple of exceptions). They were fun!

These are the books reviewed:Dead Until Dark (Sookie Stackhouse, Book 1) and Living Dead in Dallas (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 2) and Club Dead (Southern Vampire Mysteries, Book 3)

Aren't they?! I saw her at ComicCon (the friends I was with know her from Cozy Mystery Cons that they went to before discovering the hot men of SciFi channel) and she was a cute, round, grandmotherly type woman with a grand sense of humor. I got the first book for free as a promo for True Blood (which I have no interest in seeing) and quickly ran through the first 4. I'm on a break now because I needed to go visit some other genres (Orson Scott Card's Ender series, Bernard Cromwell's Richard Sharpe series, the Temeraire dragon/Age of Sail series, some Darkover Free Amazons stuff), but I will certainly visit again. I love Bubba!!

P.S. Did I tell you that I'm on South Beach now? OMG! So much easier to stay on that Atkins!! I only have about 10-15 pounds to lose, but I needed the change for emotional purposes - the overabnmdance of bad carbs (like Pop Tarts!) were making me all depressed and low energy.

You're doing SBD now, too?

Yeah, my RN suggested it *strongly* that I get off all the carbs (high sugar in my blood) and do the change. It's not as hard as it would sound, unless, like me, you go on vacation and that's ALL that's available! It's unreal!

Atkins was really boring, and the Guy and I could stay on it for only about 1 or 2 weeks. Blech. All that meat made me feel so unhealthy.

I've heard the Stackhouse series goes off the rails around the 7th book (on Amazon reviews).
