OMG, so Buffy goes both ways, now?
Mar. 6th, 2008 06:52 amAccording to this strange article, yes she does. And it's weird how, after ONE night spending it with another girl, she's gay, and not bi. No wonder men are freaky about one night stands with other guys: it automatically makes them gay! Oh noez!
Oh, and this has to do with the Season Eight comic books being planned out by Joss Whedon. Does this mean she and Willow are finally going to get it on, too? That would be something.

Date: 2008-03-06 03:09 pm (UTC)I've talked to gay guys who have had girlfriends and have told me that they've enjoyed the sex and they'd be happy to get sex from girls but they call themselves gay. I remind them that if that's the case, then they are bi and they look at me like i've lost my mind. Maybe I'm missing something??
ETA: It's like how folks are 'outed' as gay or out themselves as gay but you don't ever really hear the same things for folks who are bi.

Date: 2008-03-07 12:17 am (UTC)I think it's strange: I think, if you're the type who has some enjoyment from being with either gender (male or female, or both!) that doesn't mean you're Gay.
There are one or two folks on my flist who are admittedly bisexual, which to me, is not the same as Gay or Het only.
Maybe guys are trained to think that as soon as they've had relations with another guy, they're gay, no two ways about it, and the women are just a side-dish. If that.

Date: 2008-03-07 06:38 am (UTC)I'm not expressing this well. If you think of orientation only as orientation, it's logical to call someone who sleeps with both genders "bisexual". But if you're thinking of orientation as your ticket to male privilege, you're either "in" or you're "out."

Date: 2008-03-07 09:20 am (UTC)I think it's because people really really want to have their lables and categories.
It's too complicated to just say: "well, I can fall in love with whomever I fall in love with and that's just that."
That makes people really really nervous, for some reason but to be honest, how could I really KNOW who I would fall in love with? I just assume it happens when it happens and there's not alot I can do about it. Maybe that's just me. ;)
I'm not saying that it's wrong to want to categorise though, but maybe it's something we all need to look at once in a while, so we don't make judgements too easily.
I know I do it when it comes to religion and politics and it's something I have to watch out for. :)

Date: 2008-03-07 01:44 pm (UTC)Actually, this reminds me of an article I read a few years back about 'multiples' and how they felt that it's a great hope that one day gay couples can mary, but it still leaves *them* out in the cold.
