Mermaid went with her Venture Crew to a local gun club last night. She did pretty well for her first time shooting guns. They got to try out a bunch of different gauges. Her favorite was the .22. All she had to do was buy the ammunition and go through a two hour gun safety class. Tall Boy, who is into first person shooter games on the Xbox, really wants to learn, too. Truthfully, although the noise is godawful (I kept jumping when guns were being shot at the range when I dropped Mermaid off) I wouldn't mind learning, either. Mind you, I am NOT fond of the NRA. I appreciate their gun safety program--it would be stupid to campaign for gun ownership without safety classes. But if you want to learn about them you have to go through them.
Had another wave of grief when I went to pick up Mermaid. I could barely drive. It's a good thing I was only driving three or four miles. It was hard to stop.
