Damp roof

Jul. 6th, 2011 11:28 am
Oh, crap. I had a plumber come out to check the pipes near a bathroom, because the roof next to the bathroom (and going down the front of the house) is damp underneath the aggregate roof. Crap crap crap. That layer is some sort of old compacted wood from the 1950s, I think.

I'm going to have to call in a few roofers, I think, to give us an estimate, because we simply can't have the roof rotting there. We don't want mold. Personally, I think it stems from when we had those guys here painting the trim and fixing some rotted wood under the paint. They must have done something to the flashing. Or maybe, because the roof is over 10 years old, the layers under the crappy aggregate have sprung a leak or something.

ARGH! This is NOT coming at the best of times.
