I'll bet the Enterprise C never had this kind of trouble.

I brought my car (Honda Civic, 2001) into the dealership because the check engine light was on, and it was overheating whenever I stopped at stoplights. Not a good situation. In the past, the check engine light only lit up when it involved the stupid gas cap not being tightened up enough.

Ohhhhh no. Can't have anything simple happen with this car.

Turns out a hose connecting the coolant to the engine had broken and popped off. They replaced it.

The check engine light was on because there was a leak in the exhaust/gasoline system. So, they did a diagnostic. They found one leak, ordered a pipe or tube, and replaced it because it had cracked. Only, when they checked it, there were OTHER leaks. LOTS of leaks. The gas tank had developed a crack near the top of the tank. There were several other leaks in other tubes and areas. They pulled the rear seat out and it smelled like gasoline. Not not not not good.

Also, as I expected, the front brakes needed replacement (the shoe part, that does the actual braking. Goody.

All this is on top of an Intermediate tune-up. Yippee. At this point they've had my car for a week. Fortunately, I'd waited until they had a loaner car available--it's the only dealership that supplies free loaner cars to customers; the guy on the phone told me that people who usually go to other dealerships discovered this benefit, and now they were swamped with calls and appointments. So I'm not paying for a rental car on top of the fixes. But holy crap. This car only has about 130,000 miles on it, I think.
