School giving
Oct. 20th, 2010 07:41 pmWent to Target today and stocked up on a few things that teachers and admin at Mermaid's school have asked for on their wish lists. It didn't seem like a whole lot, but the office manager was thrilled at all the pencils, coffee, tea and sweetners (for the teacher's lounge) as well as paper towels and sneeze tissues that I hauled in. She wrote me in as having donated my 25 hours of service to the school. Wow. But I'll probably bring more stuff in when I look a little more closely at the teacher's lists-I forgot to look on their syllabi for more information. I think the English teacher could use some more books appropriate for high school kids in her class, so I'm going to take a look at the library's used books and donate those if there are any available.
My son's elementary school has always told me they don't need anything, and it's possible they don't-but I'm always hearing about schools that don't have enough basic supplies (like wipes, kleenex, etc) so I might bring some of those in. It's cold & flu season.
