Glass Houses and Stones
Sep. 24th, 2010 09:04 pmI have a Facebook page. It's under my real name of course, and some of you know what that is, and have friended me.
So I have to ask, WTF is that Cause page that pushes for support and money to defeat a mosque/center TWO BLOCKS away from the former site of the World Trade Center? Seriously? Why? I ask that because, if I wanted, I suppose I could come up with some very vile things that Christians have done to women in this country, or American soldiers of Christian denominations have done to Islamic peoples in their own countries all in the name of the actions of a few, and extremists. It's the same kind of hate-on Jews used to get-hell, still do in some parts, thanks to extreme Christians (and moderate Christians) who have their panties in a knot that someone is different than they are.
I have to ask you, who support blocking that Islamic center/mosque--have you heard that idiom about glass houses and throwing stones? And, Let he who is without Sin cast the first stone?
It's a free country. That means, to me, you can support whatever causes you want, you can say whatever you want about it; but it ALSO goes for the Other Guy to rebut, to garner support, and say what they would like in turn. Right now, this is my turn. And I'm disappointed and sad. I don't often touch on politics or religion on my blog; I'm neither political, nor am I religious. But I respect those who respect others' religions and points of view.
