The Great TV Breakdown of 2010
Jun. 4th, 2010 08:30 pmThe most over-used item in our house--the monster plasma television the Guy bought when our other, smaller conventional tv fell apart on us three years ago, just melted. The cord, that is.
At first I thought the smell came from the house-building across the street (remember that house that burned down two years ago? They're rebuilding now). But, no. Then I thought it was from an accident on the freeway that's close to our house (hey, accidents happen in our area all.the.time). But, no. Finally realizing the burning odor was coming from inside the house, I looked for the source, couldn't find it, exactly, then called the Guy about it. I was afraid it was something burning in our electrical system.
When he finally made it home, the Guy finally discovered that the cord on the TV had melted. MELTED. A repair guy from Best Buy is coming by early on Wednesday morning to fix the thing, or replace it. Frankly, I'm sooo happy that I won't be hearing the kids fighting over the television for a few days.
