The Great Escape is on AMC right now, and boy, is this a good movie, or what? It's about war and being a prisoner, which is dire, but it's all about affirmation of one's humanity and purpose and determination. And you can't go wrong when a movie has Steve McQueen, James Garner, the guy who plays Illya Kuriakin (sp?) in Man From UNCLE, and a whole bunch of other well-known actors - doesn't get much better than this! And think of all the slash possible in a POW sitation. Yowza.
