Tonight's Stargate

I have it on now. I'm finding reading the forums on Delphi and Sony more interesting.

My Guy said he wished Vala would come back. I told him she would be back at the end of the season, and that they wrote her pregnancy into the plot next season -- and to think "Angel" and Jasmine. He doesn't like spoilers at all.

I told him I wasn't sure I'd be watching the show at that point. He watched the second half of SG, then walked away at the end, and doesn't bother with Atlantis. I didn't bother with Atlantis, either, except to watch a few excerpts.

We discussed how the show was nowhere near as textured and full of subtexts and ironies as BSG is, and forget about comparing the tightness of the stories and scripts.

Stargate may be getting the ratings, but BSG is getting the stories and depth in characterization I like. It's too bad MS wasn't selected for Apollo. It would have been the best of both worlds. And to think I was getting a fangirls' dream of seeing Ben Browder and Michael Shanks together on Stargate, together -- well, bye bye dream. Stargate doesn't work anymore.

Was MS up for that? That would've been interesting, to say the least.

My sympathies. I just didn't start watching again when it started up after hiatus. I'll wait for the end of the season, be forewarned what to expect, and watch downloads.

Oh, I thank god that didn't happen! ;-) I think the new BSG should never, ever have been made. :-( I love MS and would want to watch him in anything and everything, but I couldn't watch that. If they had changed the name of the show or at the very least set it in the past or future from the other show or even just used different character names...maybe. But as it is...no. It makes me sad just to know it's in existence.

(I'm not trying to imply that you or anyone shouldn't like the new show or whatever--just trying to say how horrified I'd be if MS were on that show and how glad I am that he's not. Was he up for the part of Apollo?)

I still love SG-1, but I'm with you about wondering what's going to happen once Vala comes back--as you know. These new spoilers just make it seem even worse to me. Maybe I won't hate it. I'm afraid I'll end up hating Daniel. I don't think I'll ever stop watching for as long as MS is on it, though, but maybe it will actually get to that point. I hope not. I don't know what I'd do without Stargate. I guess I'd be back to watching the DVDs, but even the earlier seasons aren't as much fun any more because Sam is still there. ;-)

SG1 has been a disappointment for a couple of seasons now. I still sort of watch it, ie the television is on while I go about my business, but it's just not the same. Certainly not in the league of BSG or even SG1 a couple of seasons ago. So sad.
